How To Go From Purpose To Impact

Since the pandemic, purpose has been at an all-time high. People are no longer subjecting themselves to careers that no longer serve them. They are applying to jobs that align with their values or quitting altogether. If you are thinking of starting a purpose-driven business, then this article is for you. Below I list ways how to go from purpose to impact.

1. Figure out what you're in business for

What's the purpose of you starting a business? Is it to join a trend or do you have a passion for it? When it comes to discovering your purpose, self-awareness is a major key in identifying who you are called to be. You must figure out who you are, where you want to be in life, and what type of people you want to associate yourself with to visualize the life you want.

2. Visualize your new normal

Now that you have uncovered your purpose, you should now embrace, visualize, and accept your calling. When you visualize your goals, you are “seeing” yourself in that position before you accomplish them. Visualization creates motivation from within to help you strive for your dreams. It also creates positive thinking and will train your brain to stay on track with your goals.

3. Set goals

Goal setting helps you stay on track, provides direction, and helps you gain clarity about your vision. Here's the 90-day goal-setting strategy formula that I use in my business.

  • Set the goal and make it reasonable. For example, don't set a 2-day goal to create your website from scratch when you know it will at least take about a month to complete it.

  • Create an action plan. Now that you've set your goals, how are you going to achieve them? Write out a plan that will help you execute your goals. Don't set it and forget it.

  • Faith without works is dead. Now it's time to work the plan. Make sure your actions are aligned with your goals. Set aside time to get the work done. Remember, nothing works unless you do :-)

  • Use SMART Goals. When setting your goals, make sure they are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and are set within a Time frame.

4. Activate your purpose under business and leadership development

Now it's time to activate your purpose under business development. Start by researching the industry, and creating a mini business plan that includes the mission and vision statements, target audience details, and SWOT analysis. You will also have to develop special leadership skills to become the person you need to be.

5. Show up in your purpose

Show up in your purpose through branding, marketing, and media. (I teach you how to do so in my new online course)

6. Create purposeful products and services

The goal is to create products and services that will help transform your clients' lives for the better.
