Is This Entrepreneurship Thing For Me?

Updated: Jan 26, 2019

I recently came across a quote which read "Of Course I Struggle. I Just Don't Quit" It really stuck out to me because this entrepreneurship journey can be a roller coaster ride and one of the key essentials to success is NOT quitting. What do you do when you feel stuck? When you launch a course or product and no one buys immediately? What do you do as a singer when you promote your new single and you hear crickets? What do you do when you've lost all of the motivation and drive to keep you going? Entrepreneurship is not for everyone. I strongly suggest entering the world of entrepreneurship with a strong passion for what you desire to be. Follow your purpose. Yes, hard work, consistency, creativeness, and a few other factors are a part of it, but when you follow your passion, the above scenarios can be answered in one word and one question. WHY? Always remember your WHY. WHY are you doing what you do? Is it for financial freedom, are you in business to help people grow personally and professionally? Do you sing or rap because you have a story to tell? What's you WHY? The reason why you started your business will give you back that drive to try harder, try a different marketing strategy, and to not give up when things get a little challenging.

Now, if you've gone into business for all of the wrong reasons or because its the "THING" to do, you will not get far. It's OK to work for someone else. But, if you are going to work for someone else, I would suggest becoming an INTRAPRENEUR. Intrapreneurs are people who are passionate about their careers although they work for someone else. They are innovative, take their jobs seriously and enjoy what they do. If something effects the company, intrapreneurs take it personally and discover ways to fix the problem. They work over 40 hours a week by putting in extra hours. They think of creative ways to enhance the company’s performance, and as a result these are the type of people to receive promotions within their jobs. If you do not feel this way about the current job you are in, find your passion and apply for a position where you can utilize your gifts. Not everyone wants to own their own company, but no one said that you cannot be a boss or leader because of that.
