Women's History Month is an annual declared month that highlights the contributions of women to events in history and society. We have the story of an amazingly talented and driven woman who went from struggling to having her products available at Walmart and Target to becoming a self-made millionaire.
Bella Rose is the CEO/Founder of Bella Rose Passion, an amazing cosmetics company in which she covers all things beauty. She has everything from skincare to candles. The collection has grown to house reliable products and body care essentials. You may see her items used by celebrities and influencers such as your favorite reality stars and actresses.
Bella Rose is a thriving entrepreneur and in a short amount of time, she has accomplished so much. From getting her Minority-Owned Business Certifications to Women-Owned Business Certifications and now running her beauty brand.
Although she comes from humble beginnings, she never let her circumstances stop her.
Q. What was the inspiration behind your brand?
My inspiration behind my brand at 1st was survival, I was just crying to make money and survive but just trying to survive got boring and complicated with no direction. My inspiration became wanting other women like myself to see success is possible, and now my drive is my mother, who recently passed away. My mother was very encouraging and supportive. She gave me so many ideas, now I just want to make my mother proud of my success.
Q. What’s the inspiration behind your most recent product launch?
My inspiration for my most recent product launch was my mother, she loved cleaning, and before she passed away my mother and I bonded over how good my home smelled and how good the carpets looked, I showed her the carpet freshener I had been working on, for over a year to get the formula perfect. My mom was so in love with the product, she went back home to NJ and made her own the day before she passed away, and when I went to her house, I saw it on her counter and I promised I would allow my mother to live through this product.
Q. Do you believe in work-life balance? If so how do you maintain it?
I absolutely believe in work-life balance, I have 3 children and have been with my husband for 23 years. Once Bella Rose Passion grew successful it was very overwhelming, so I started putting myself on a shift as if I worked as an employee. My hours are 6-8 hour shifts 4-5 days a week and I do get vacation time. Because my family is most important to me.
Q. It’s Women’s History Month. Name 2 women who inspire you and why.
I will say my mother is my inspiration personally for being so strong after surviving 2 brain aneurysms and a stroke. She supported all her friends and family even in her weakest moments. She only wanted to make sure we were taken care of, and I inspire to be that strong in life.
The 2nd woman who inspires me in business is Sarah Blakely Creator of Spanx. Sarah created a product that she believed in so much she never gave up on her creation. Sarah presented her product and grew a brand on her own, which became successful in her eyes before she was able to be seen as successful in everyone's eyes Spanx was a product women needed and had no idea how much we needed it.
Q. What's your best piece of advice for aspiring and new entrepreneurs?
My best piece of advice to aspiring and new entrepreneurs will be to have confidence, in yourself and our brand believe in yourself, motivate yourself daily, become your strongest supporter, and allow others to support you in different ways. Don't focus on the money.
Q. Who is your business role model? Why?
My business role model right now is Mia Ray, she stay humble, respects others shows how much her kids mean to her, and is true to her brand. I watched her grow from 1 planner to a full luxury designer handbag and accessory brand that can be seen globally on all the girlies, and I love that for her because she is not chasing money, fame, or success she is just focused on growing her brand and staying true to her loyal supporters.
Q. What do you define as success?
I define success as comfort when you are living comfortably, sleeping comfortably, able to provide opportunities to others and help those in need.
Q. What would attract listeners to your story?
I believe I'm an average woman, a wife, a mother, and a daughter. I had a dream that I believed in, and I took a leap of faith on my dream. I am just like them. My story doesn't start off lavish or fun, it's all about survival.
