Leslie Crawford is a literary expert from Baltimore, MD. Her writing skills involve her self-published books, publishing company for other authors, and her online literacy bookstore. Leslie is now adding another literary component to her business called When Children Write. This writing program offers children a way to expand on their creativity through writing. āWriting fuels the soul,ā states Leslie Crawford. The programās mission is to provide a reading and writing program to guide students to writing their own book while also improving the ongoing literacy crisis.
When Children Write operates on four principles:
Build Confidence Among Students;
Have Fun;
Respect Each Other; and
Be Creative
Leslie successfully runs this program as an after school program at many public school locations. This year she is also hosting a Virtual Summer Camp for six weeks. She also offers one on one sessions as consultations and tutoring options. Leslie is hoping to end the achievement gap by helping kids improve on their reading and writing skills. In addition to this program, Leslie also owns her own self-publishing firm called Exposed Books.
